Post-Travel Diagnosis and Treatment

Traveler's Medical Service provides specialized travel and tropical-medicine consultations for individuals who suspect symptoms of a travel related illness upon return.

• Screening procedures for exotic infections may be indicated when symptoms appear during or after travel. Screening should also be considered if a traveler has had potential exposure to disease, particularly during adventure travel or an extended visit overseas.
• Diagnosis and treatment of travel and tropical diseases require careful evaluation of symptoms in relation to recent and earlier travel. Skilled medical management is important and urgent if malaria and other serious diseases are suspected.
