Post-travel medical care

Traveler's Medical Service physicians provide post travel medical consultations and care for individuals with symptoms of a travel related illness upon return from a trip.

Diagnosis and treatment of travel related illness and tropical diseases requires careful evaluation of symptoms in relation to recent and previous travel. Skilled medical management is essential and urgent if malaria and other serious diseases are suspected.

Special screening procedures and laboratory tests for exotic infections may be indicated during post travel evaluations. The travel and tropical medicine experts of Traveler's Medical Service utilize a network of specialized laboratories, including The Parasitology Laboratory of Washington, CDC and NIH to facilitate access to the most current and appropriate screening available.

Please note that our offices are only open during standard business hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (except national holidays). During evening and weekend hours, if you are experiencing an acute or severe illness, you should contact your primary care provider or go to the nearest emergency room.
