Cindy Freebairn, RN, MBA has been a nurse for over 30 years. She began her nursing career in cardiology working in Hartford, Connecticut. Eventually, she branched out into healthcare management, preventive health education and program development. Her interest in travel medicine began while living with her family in Mexico City, Mexico. In Mexico, she provided care for international school-age children as well as locals. Upon returning to the U.S., she joined the team at Traveler’s Medical Service in Washington, DC. where she provides pre-travel assessment and education. Having traveled extensively with her own family, she enjoys working with families planning to travel abroad. She recently completed the Professional Diploma in Tropical Disease Nursing at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Nursing and is a member of the American Travel Health Nurses Association (ATHNA) and the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM).
